Awolight

Awolight

Awolight is a mixture gas of argon, helium and oxygen, combining inert protection, high arc thermal efficiency and a low active oxygen content. Argon stabilises the arc, helium increases arc heat and penetration, and a small amount of oxygen enhances metal melting and weld wetting. This makes Awolight an effective shielding gas, especially for TIG and MAG welding and demanding technical applications where precise arc control and optimum weld quality are required.

Awolight is a mixed gas for welding, consisting of 1% oxygen, 30% helium and the rest argon. It combines the inert shielding effect of argon, the high thermal conductivity of helium and the ability of oxygen to stabilise the arc.

The mixture is colourless, odourless and non-toxic and does not maintain combustion as a pure gas. Awolight is heavier than air and can accumulate in low-lying spaces such as basements, acting as a suffocating gas to displace oxygen. Its use therefore requires good ventilation and attention to occupational safety.
