Compressed air

Compressed air

Compressed air is compressed air that is widely used in industry, construction, automation and tooling. It is composed mainly of nitrogen and oxygen, like ordinary breathing air.

Compressed air is special because of its ability to store energy under pressure, making it an efficient and safe source of power for many applications. It is also a key component in many manufacturing processes where air quality, humidity and purity directly affect the reliability of systems and the durability of equipment.

Compressed air consists of the same main elements as breathing air: about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and small amounts of other gases. It is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable and non-toxic gas that behaves physically like ordinary air, but at a pressure many times higher than the ambient pressure.

Compressed air contains oxygen, so it can sustain combustion. However, it does not accelerate combustion in the same way as pure oxygen gas, but has a similar effect to normal air, but the strong flow can inject more oxygen into the combustion and thus accelerate the process.
