Cromarod 309 MoL is a rutile-coated electrode that produces an austenitic stainless filler metal containing 23% Cr, 12% Ni and 2.5% Mo. Thanks to its high alloying and high ferriticity, the weld metal is highly resistant to the mixing of different base materials and difficult to weld materials with the weld metal without the risk of hot cracking.
Buttering of unalloyed and low alloy steels prior to coating with Cromarod 316L “Black-oxygen-resistant” stick welding of mixed joints. Welding of hardening medium carbon steels.
