Odorised oxygen

Odorised oxygen

Odorised oxygen (smell oxygen) is a scented industrial oxygen that improves occupational safety by making it possible to detect leaks and dangerous concentrations by smell.

Oxygen (O₂) has the following basic properties: it is a colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-toxic gas, slightly heavier than air. Oxygen maintains combustion and reacts sensitively with many substances, making it an effective oxidant in industry.

Odorised oxygen is the same substance as ordinary oxygen, but with the addition of a fragrance to improve safety at work. The fragrance allows oxygen leakage to be detected by smell, reducing the risk of accidents. Odorised oxygen promotes combustion and is a highly oxidising gas, so elevated oxygen levels increase the risk of fire as materials ignite and burn more easily in an oxygen-enriched environment.

Oxygen 99,999 %, Dimethyl sulphide 0,001 %.
