LPG is a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly energy source. It consists of a mixture of propane and butane, which is produced as a by-product of fuel and oil refining and from gas deposits in the ground. The high propane content of LPG makes it well suited to frosty conditions.
LPG is naturally odourless, tasteless and colourless. For safety reasons, LPG sold in Finland is always scented to make it easy to detect a possible leak. The pungent odour is clearly visible even at low concentrations. LPG is highly flammable and suffocating in high concentrations.
