SK-25

SK-25

SK-25 is a blend gas of argon and 25% carbon dioxide that provides strong penetration and controlled mass transfer in MAG welding. The high carbon dioxide content stabilises the arc and improves weld fusion control. At the same time, it increases the formation of spatter and surface oxides. SK-25 is particularly suitable for welding unalloyed and low alloy steels where a fast welding process and good mechanical resistance are required for thin and medium plates.

SK-25 is a mixed gas consisting of 75% argon and 25% carbon dioxide. It is a colourless, odourless, tasteless and non-toxic gas that does not sustain combustion. SK-25 is a suffocating gas and, being heavier than air, can accumulate in low-lying areas, so adequate ventilation is important when using the gas.
