Inspection of gas cylinders (periodic inspection)
Cylinders are regularly inspected to optimise their safety. During the periodic inspection, the cylinder is subjected to a test push and an external and internal inspection. At the same time, the empty weight is checked and the fittings and markings are checked.
The gas cylinder is cleaned by jet blasting the outside, painted and the date of inspection is stamped on the shoulder of the cylinder.
Periodic inspection is a statutory inspection of pressure equipment, which is carried out at certain intervals depending on the type of gas. All reusable pressure receptacles must be inspected and tested regularly by an approved body (Ministry of Transport and Communications Decree 171/2009, section 6.2.1.6).
The periodic inspection of an owner-operated bottle is paid for by the bottle owner, while the inspection of a rented bottle is carried out by Woikoski. A bottle of inspection age is automatically inspected by us when it is filled.

- Inspection – 4 months (all gases)
- Refill 1 month – Basic air gases
- Refill 2 months – Acetylene, Air, Air gas, Helium, Special gases
What is done with cylinders during the inspection?
During the inspection, we make sure that the cylinder is safe and fit for use. The charge is based on the current price list. The gas filling charge will be invoiced separately.
The measures include:
- Gas cylinder hail blasting and painting
- Internal inspection and test pushing of the bottle
- Valve and cover replacement
- Flushing the cylinder with the gas to be filled before the actual filling, so that no room air remains inside the cylinder
- The acetylene bottle is not rinsed, but the mass inside the bottle is absorbed with acetone.
The periodic inspection of an industrial bottle (T201556) includes:
- Inspection
- Replacement of the cylinder valve (valve replaced at each inspection)
- Flushing
- Inspection fee
The charge is determined by the current price list. The gas filling price will be invoiced separately.
What to do in case of refusal?
Cylinders rejected at the inspection will be scrapped and not returned to the customer. The rejection fee will be charged according to the current price list. The customer may request a certificate of rejection if he wishes.
Delivering the owner’s bottle for filling and inspection
You can take your owner’s bottle to your nearest Woikoski dealer for filling and inspection. Please note that we do not fill or inspect cylinders with a round base or foot ring, or cylinders marked 150 bar.
