Propane is an efficient and versatile energy source, but the safe use of LPG requires care and compliance with instructions. Please read Woikoski’s guidelines for the safe use of LPG.
Handling of propane cylinder
Correct handling of the LPG cylinder is the basis for safe use.
- Always keep the bottle upright
The LPG cylinder should be handled and stored in an upright position. When used in a horizontal position, the LPG cylinder gas may come out of the valve as a liquid. In addition, when stored horizontally, the cylinder’s safety valve is compromised. The safety valve prevents the cylinder from exploding in the event of fire. - Use a pressure regulator
Use a good quality domestic pressure regulator (30 mbar) to ensure the correct pressure when using the LPG cylinder. Please note that a low-quality pressure regulator may prevent gas flow with a newer, more rigid, cylinder valve. - Close the valve after use
Always remember to close the valve on the LPG cylinder after use to prevent gas leakage. At the same time, disconnect the pressure regulator connected to the cylinder to avoid possible jamming of the valve needle (pressure valve). - Change the bottle safely
Do not smoke or use an open flame when changing a LPG cylinder. Indoor replacement is only allowed after ensuring adequate ventilation.
LPG safety data sheet – read before use
Gases behave differently depending on their quality and state. It is important to read the safety data sheet before use. It contains key information on the properties of LPG, potential hazards and safe handling, particularly for industrial and professional use.
