Happy May Day – leave the helium balloons alone

May Day is already tomorrow, and many people are already starting to get into the festive spirit. In the midst of the joyful celebrations, we would like to remind you of one important safety issue: breathing helium is dangerous.
Helium makes sound sound higher because sound travels faster in helium than in air, which changes the resonance of the vocal cords. Although this phenomenon may seem entertaining, it carries serious risks.
Helium displaces oxygen in the lungs, which can lead to oxygen deprivation, loss of consciousness or even death. In addition, helium does not activate the body’s normal breathing reflex, making it particularly dangerous to inhale. Helium should not be inhaled under any circumstances.
We wish everyone a safe and happy May Day! 🎈
