Woikoski has reliably met the gas needs of OLP-Tuotanto, providing the support and expertise that has been key to the smooth running of OLP-Tuotanto.

OLP-Tuotanto, a metal subcontracting company, has been building a trusting and smooth cooperation with Woikoski in Finland for almost seven years. The long-term partnership has proven to be a golden one. Woikoski has reliably met OLP’s gas needs, providing support and expertise that has been key to the smooth running of OLP’s production.

OLP-Tuotanto is a metal subcontracting company that manufactures customised metal products for various industries. The company specialises in deep drawing. The range of products varies from small parts to large, truck transportable units.

– We make the metal exactly what the customer needs. Our customers include small sole traders as well as large corporations, says Raimo Härkönen, Logistics Manager at OLP.

Härkönen is responsible for the company’s logistics and also supervises the use of the gas tank. A high quality product delivered on time is the cornerstone of OLP’s business.

– We always strive to serve our customers so that they get the product they want exactly as they want it, says Härkönen.

The gas and welding needs of OLP are met by Woikoski, which supplies gases for laser equipment, resonator gas, liquid nitrogen, oxygen in batteries and welding gases. The company decided to put its previous gas supplier out to tender and looked at alternatives based, among other things, on price.

– We started with the price and asked Woikoski under what conditions and at what prices they could supply us with the gas we needed, Härkönen recalls.

OLP became Woikoski’s customer in two stages: initially, the cooperation started with cylinder gases, and later the supply of liquid nitrogen tanks was added.

– The main reason for changing the tank was that we were not satisfied with the previous price. In addition, the old tank was very small, so we decided to go for a bigger tank. This reduced the number of refuelling trips in our direction, which in turn reduced truck traffic on the site.

OLP-Tuotanto has a remote monitoring system provided by Woikoski to facilitate the management of liquid gases. Thanks to this system, the company does not have to worry about filling or monitoring the tanks itself.

– We receive liquid deliveries automatically, we are remotely monitored so that we don’t have to worry about filling the tank ourselves, Woikoski does it for us.

– We just tell them whether we’re working in one, two or three shifts, and they keep the tank balanced. As for the gas cylinders, we order them ourselves as required. We see what’s in stock, which cylinders are empty, and order refills based on that, Härkönen explains.

In Woikoski’s selection of OLP-Tuotanto, the key factors for the gas supplier were customer service in Finnish, fast response time, security of supply and competitive price. Thanks to these factors, cooperation has been smooth and problems have been solved quickly.

– Price was one of the factors we looked at, as well as security of supply. Both have delivered as expected, Härkönen points out.

– Our potential problems are responded to immediately. There have been no more major problems. There used to be some, but now we’ve got rid of them, he says.
