In healthcare units, medical gas is distributed to the point of use by means of a gas network. The network analysis ensures that the gas distributed in the pipeline meets the quality requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) at the point of use.
We carry out analyses for all pharmaceutical gases. We always carry out analyses according to the latest valid Ph. Eur. equipment and methods and we take the analyses at points determined by the customer on the basis of a risk assessment. The analysis service includes sampling, measurement of pressure and temperature values in the network, analysis of the samples, as well as a statement on the samples and proposals for corrective measures for any deviating analytical values.
The Finnish Medicines Agency (Fimea) requires annual analyses of pharmaceutical gas networks, and also after any minor change where there has been a possibility of contamination of the pipeline. In its inspections, Fimea also requires the submission of certificates of analysis less than one year old.
